What we collect
When you use the SNAP Check tool and choose to see your estimate, we collect:
- Your email address and phone number
- Your state and household size
- Your estimate result (whether you appear likely eligible and the estimated amount)
- Whether you opted in to text messages
What we do NOT collect
- We never ask for your Social Security number.
- The income and expense figures you enter are calculated on your own device and are not sent to us or stored. Only your contact info, state, household size, and result are recorded.
How we use your information
- To send you your results and a guide on how to apply.
- To send you free Benefits Insider updates by email — Social Security, Medicare, SNAP, and benefits news. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
- If you opt in, to send you text updates. Message and data rates may apply; reply STOP at any time to opt out. We only send texts to people who check the consent box.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
Important limits
SNAP is administered by the states. Only your state SNAP agency can determine whether you qualify and your exact benefit amount. Rules and dollar amounts vary by state and change each year. To apply, use your state's official SNAP office or the USDA state directory.
